How To Turn On YouTube Dark Mode On PC
The first thing to do is open up a web browser of your choice; I prefer Chrome, so I will use that for this guide.
Next, visit YouTube.com.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, and a drop-down menu will appear.
From the drop-down, select “Appearance: XYZ.” XYZ will be whatever existing setting you have in place.
Now you can select “Dark theme” from the options to enable dark mode on YouTube from a PC.
Alternatively, you can set the appearance to “Use device theme.” With this option set, whatever device theme you’re using, your YouTube experience will change with it.
For example, if you’re using macOS and have the appearance set to “Auto,” YouTube will automatically toggle between dark mode and light mode depending on the time of day (with the dark mode being on at night).
How To Turn On YouTube Dark Mode On Mobile
Turning on dark mode for YouTube on a mobile device is equally easy, regardless of whether you’re using an Android or iOS device.
The first thing you need to do is make sure your YouTube app is up-to-date.
If it is, then you must open the YouTube App on your mobile device.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner to open the menu.
From the menu, scroll down and select “Settings.”
At the top, select “General.”
And then click on “Appearance.”
You can select “Dark theme,” which will turn on YouTube dark mode.
Like with the PC version, you can also select “Use device theme” which will automatically change the YouTube app from light mode to dark mode depending on your device’s theme settings.
